The multi-award-winning METROPOLIS opened its doors in 1957 and, along with the CASABLANCA cinema, is one of Bochum's major film theatres for sophisticated cinema entertainment. Located directly in Bochum's main railway station (in the left side wing of the main entrance), the METROPOLIS offers a varied range of films in its spacious cinema auditorium, which is equipped with the latest technology, from first screenings in English to special series and premiere events.
The METROPOLIS cinema hall can accommodate up to 200 visitors. The auditorium is equipped with both analogue and digital projection technology. The latter also allows films to be shown in digital 3D format. A modern sound system ensures the right cinema acoustics.
