Junge Triennale

The Junge Triennale gives children and young people the opportunity to experience art and culture and to make their own. It offers young people – accompanying the Ruhrtriennale programme – artistic projects and workshops for schools linked to productions.

With TEENS IN THE HOUSE III – A Young Residency, the Ruhrtriennale's youth group is moving into the festival again this year. Creative workshops were held monthly in the run-up to the festival. New members aged 16 and over are very welcome!

In Im Garten der Potiniers / Au jardin des Potiniers, elementary school students and families dive into the poetry of nature from the perspective of mountains in a colorful pop-up landscape. Young and old from the age of 12 experience intoxicating energy in the dance piece Skatepark at the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum. Young people from the age of 14 and adults encounter young people from other continents and their stories in no less than two productions: The Chilean theatre production La posibilidad de la ternura / The Possibility of Tenderness invites us to look at images of masculinity and their effects. In The Visitors, the everyday experiences of violence of young dancers from Johannesburg, South Africa, are imaginatively combined with the youthful fascination with horror films. The installation My Body Is Not An Island by Eva Koťátková in the Kulturkirche Liebfrauen in Duisburg is an invitation to children, young people and adults to empathize with others and learn emotionality as an approach to the world.
