The title is a natural fit for the coronavirus period, plus I had a reading with Pamuk together at the concert hall (he was interviewed, and I was allowed to read the passages in German) and got to meet him in the flesh. So I immersed myself in the novel and thoroughly enjoyed its cleverness, profundity, complexity and humour.
