The first chapter of the book actually confused me because same-sex relationships in the 19th century in New York are being described as givens.
In the second chapter, I found it confusing that the individuals in some cases have the same names as those in the previous chapter. Quite naturally, I as the reader, always search for corresponding themes.
I am now stuck in the third chapter, which may be a bit too much about disastrous scenarios amid a white healthcare dictatorship in 2093.
