Just in time for the start of the new school year, the Ruhrtriennale 2023 begins in the four cities of Bochum, Essen, Dortmund and Duisburg. This year, the Festival of the Arts is once again dedicating various productions to families with children as well as young people.

Elementary school students and families can immerse themselves in the poetry of nature through the eyes of mountains in a colorful pop-up landscape called Im Garten der Potiniers / Au jardin des Potiniers. For the Monday, 11 September 9 am performance, a class of up to 30 people can book via jungetriennale@ruhrtriennale.de.
Young and old from the age of 12 can experience rousing energy in the dance piece Skatepark at the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum.
Young people from the age of 14 and adults will meet young people from other continents and their stories in two productions: The Chilean theater production La posibilidad de la ternura / The Possibility of Tenderness invites us to look at images of masculinity and their effects. In The Visitors, the everyday experiences of violence of young dancers from Johannesburg, South Africa, are imaginatively combined with the youthful fascination with horror films.
The installation My Body Is Not An Island by Eva Koťátková in the Kulturkirche Liebfrauen in Duisburg is an invitation to children, young people and adults to empathize with others and to learn emotionality as an approach to the world.
