That was the first day of the Ruhrtriennale 2022! Minister President Hendrik Wüst opened the 20th edition of the Festival of the Arts. To mark the start of the second season under the directorship of Swiss theatre director Barbara Frey, the Minister President attended the premiere of the music theatre creation "Ich geh unter lauter Schatten" in the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum together with Culture and Science Minister Ina Brandes.

"Art and culture have an elementary intrinsic value," the Minister President emphasised: "We all need culture. It enriches us - personally and individually. At the same time, it can be a motor for social change. Without art and culture, a society is missing something essential."
